Job Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Be actively involved in the operational duties of the Company ensuring that you are able to provide a comprehensive account of all actions taken by staff under your responsibility, and the operational needs of the Company whilst, at all times, leading by example.
  • Responsible for the efficient and effective deployment of the resources available for the operation of the Company’s business.
  • Undertake contract review meetings with Clients ensuring that all reporting methodologies and reports are produced in a timely manner and to identify areas of best practice. Similarly, producing action plans for remedial areas as and when necessary.
  • Ensure all Site Company controlled documentation is accurate and complete at all times (Site Assignment instructions etc) and directly reflects all Company Operating Procedures and relevant British Standards.
  • Undertake risk assessments, as part of a dedicated team, to identify security compromises (actual or potential) and raise awareness amongst security personnel, the client and the Company of security issues, offering advice and guidance where appropriate.
  • Assist the Senior Management Team with ongoing audits of the Company’s functions in line with ISO9001. Must be able to demonstrate a commitment to providing a quality service through effective quality systems.
  • Liaise with the Commercial Department in relation to the mobilisation of new contracts.
  • Liaison with the Supervision and Response personnel, ensuring that the Company’s obligations are adhered to at all times in a timely and professional manner. Ensure that all relevant information is collated and recorded for future reference.
  • Establish links with community police, where possible, to ensure that the appropriate interface on all security related issues is available.
  • Assist in the development and management of appropriate systems, including files and databases, to ensure production of appropriate reports relating to Company incidents, and other ad hoc reports as required by the Senior Management Team.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of appropriate policies and procedures ensuring regularisation of internal systems related to security to produce a holistic and standardised approach.
  • Advise the Senior Management Team on local security related issues as required, ensuring interdepartmental interfacing where appropriate.
  • Upon request, participate in and advise on the recruitment, selection and interviewing of staff within the sector managed.
  • Assist the Senior Management Team with the induction and supervision of appointed staff, and in accordance with the Company’s in-house basic training programme.  Monitor progress and evaluate through regular supervision and appraisal, the targets and objectives for individual employees.  
  • Share knowledge and experience with all employees under your supervision. Participate in and ensure the continuation of training to all members of staff within the remit of your authority.  
  • Be conversant with, and implement the Company’s employment related policies and assist in ensuring that the policies are understood and implemented by all employees.
  • Ensure the smooth running of the designated portfolio by liaising with the appropriate staff as necessary to ensure the effective use of Company resources to achieve its mission. 
  • Participate in the Company promotional and marketing activities which includes seeking new business opportunities to further grow the regional portfolio.
  • Attend Management Team meetings as directed.

As part of Ward Security’s continuing growth and to support our core security team, we are now looking to recruit reliable, trustworthy and flexible Relief Concierge Security Officer Security Officers in the Birmingham area.

The role is responsible for protecting the clients’ business interests by the provision of a security presence in addressing issues dealing with fire, damage, theft and health and safety issues 

Our Relief Security Officers will work up to 50 hours per week. Flexibility will be required as shifts will vary between days, nights and weekends.

Successful applicants would be expected to:

  • Be available to cover planned annual leave
  • Be available at short notice to cover blow-outs
  • Be available to work Day’s Nights or Weekends depending on the needs of the business
  • Have the means to travel to various sites within the designated coverage area

Responsibilities may vary depending on the site being covered but will include:

  • Carrying out patrols within defined areas as an effective deterrent in the protection of the client’s property and assets
  • Examining documentation for authority allowing for controlled site access
