Our Relief Security Officers will work on average 54 hours per week. Flexibility will be required as shifts will vary between days, nights and weekends.

  • Examining documentation for authority allowing for controlled site access
  • Providing CCTV & alarm monitoring functions where appropriate (CCTV License necessary)
  • Assisting and escorting visitors to their destinations within the client’s complex
  • Effectively dealing with incidents & submitting detailed reports on discovery of issues relating to health and safety or crime either verbally or in written form as required
  • Maintaining a log of all visitors, incidents and any other records as required
  • Maintaining the client’s key safe to issue and record all movements of keys
  • Identifying suspicious persons and/or actions and reporting such circumstances

Job Purpose

  • Directly manage the supervision of security personnel, ensuring that the Companies obligations are adhered to at all times in a timely and professional manner.

  • Ensure that staff and clients of the Company assist the Health & Safety Officer to ensure compliance with policies and regulations adhere to Health & Safety policies and regulations.
  • Participate in and ensure the continuation of specialist training to key members of staff within the remit of your authority.
  • To provide regular foot patrols within defined areas as an effective deterrent in the protection of the client’s property and assets.
  • To effectively control the access to the client’s premises, examining documentation to ascertain the authenticity and authority to gain access.

This position would require the security officer to work on average 60 hours per week Monday to Friday 6.00am-6.00pm.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • To provide regular foot patrols within defined areas as an effective deterrent in the protection of the client’s property and assets.
  • To effectively control the access to the client’s premises, examining documentation to ascertain the authenticity and authority to gain access.
  • Where provided to provide monitoring functions to CCTV and alarm functions.  To be aware of the operation of those functions and to respond as required.
  • When required to assist and escort visitors to their destinations within the clients complex.
  • To submit detailed reports on discovery of issues relating to health and safety and crime to the relevant authority either verbally or in report form as required.
  • To effectively deal with all incidents falling within the security remit and to effectively report all incidents to the relevant authority.
  • To maintain a log of all visitors, incidents and any other records that may be required by the client.
  • To maintain the clients key safe to issue and record all movements of keys within the clients premises.
  • To identify suspicious persons and actions and report such circumstances.

  • To be the main point of contact for the client on a daily basis. liaise directly with the client and support meetings as directed, to ensure that all relevant information is collated and recorded to support interim reviews, KPIs and monthly meetings
  • To provide direction and effective leadership to the Deptuy Manager. Ensuring all information is made available in order to support operational delivery.
  • To manage and support projects as directed by Ward Security or the Customer ensuring timelines and expectations are met.
  • To ensure all team members are trained and able to respond and take action in event of any emergency situation.
  • To liaise with the wider business in the local area to ensure a network of communications.

Main Duties

  • Any other duties that the Client or Company may request from time to time that have not been included in the above.

The essential qualities the post holder must possess are:

  • Security professional with extensive knowledge of the Security industry, public sector or armed force.

  •  A sound working knowledge of security best practice and legislation effecting security

If you do not hear anything within this time frame, then we regret that at this time you have not been successful. We will however hold your application form on file for a period of six months in case a suitable position arises. All applicants must have an SIA License (for Security positions), a full 5 year work or education checkable history (with no gaps) and the right to work in the UK. For some positions, where driving a Company vehicle is a requirement or where site location and/or shift times dictate, a driving license and the use of your own transport will also be necessary.
